Hi All,
I was wondering how we can apply a variable load pattern on any desired node on the structure. Imposed motion in connection with ground motion commands are not any good since they only apply velocity, Acceleration and displacements. I want to perform the same function as the ones imposed motion/ground motion do with the application of force instead of accel/vel/disp in a transient analysis.
Anybody has any clue?
Tnx

I'm not sure I understand what you want to do. If you want to apply force to your structure it is enough to write the force input to a file and to create a time series using that file. After that you have to create a load pattern that will use that time history.

Re: Application of a variable load pattern
Thanks. This occurred to my mind too. I suspected that plain pattern might not work properly with transient analysis and Newmark integrator. They are irrelevant matters; aren't they? I assume by load pattern command you meant Plain pattern.

Yes, you can perform transient analysis in case load is defined by plain pattern.
