P-delta effects in 3D problems

Post by salarmanie »

Dear all ...
How can I do a P-delta analysis in a 3 dimensional problem?
I use the leaning column method in my 2D problems. Can I use this method for 3D analysis, too?
Thanks ...

Dear fmk
Thanks for your reply. There is just one question, is it true to connect CM of each story in a 3D problem to a leaning column via an axially rigid element in both longitudinal directions to capture the P-delta effects or I need to define such columns for all frames in both directions?
Best,
