Graphic interface for OpenSees
I whould like to know about possible developments of graphic interfaces for OpenSees. I´m working in a project of transmition lines towers and to analysis this towers I´v been working on a development of a software inside autocad2006. This software generate the input data file for OpenSees of a model created in aotocad 2006, processed by the software and edited by the user of the software. If anyone have made anything about this, please get in touch with me by mail.

OpenSees Navigator, OpenCPro
Hi,
You may see OpenSees Navigator (sorry, I dont remember the web add right now) and OpencPro (www,Mathworks.com/ matlabcentral/...). The latter is a MatLab toolbox for Pre-Post Processing of OpenSees Models and Results. Also visit Geotech project pages for examples of using GiD as Pre-Post-Processor.
Hope you would let us know about your progress. Good Luck.

It worked !!!
I developed a pre-processor inside the autocad 2006. I has a toolbar that alown you to work with models.
First draw the geometrical model using just the line comand. Then you run the pre-processor, it opens a dialog box through with you define the section tipe and its measure. The program calculates dates such as moments of inertia, torsor, area of section and so on. Some other properties tha user define by itself (E, constaints, forces applaied...). When you click in the OK buton you´re asked to select the geometrical model to be processed, you must do so and press ENTER. The program process the structure creating the nodes on beans extremities and appling the properties to beans and nodes.
As the same properties, section type and dimentions were applied to all beans/nodes, the program allow you to edit beans or nodes individually or in groupe (selecting more then one bean or node). After aditing every element you that need be edited you can generation input file routine through the toolbar and this file are generated.
I did a modal analysis and it worked well. I have to develop more about the kind of analysis. Even if the user need to edit manualy the script part of the input file, it´s a much easier work then doing everything manualy.
Thank you for the for informations given before !!!
