In definition of zero length elements, there is a yp vector. I am wondering if this vector is perpendicular to local x vector or not. And what is the difference between local yp and local y?
thanks

Re: yp vector
if local element axes coincide with the global axis you do not need to specify local x and yp vector.
Vector yp can be perpendicular to vector x but does not have to be. yp vector is any vector other than x that together with x defines local x-y plane for zeroLength element.
