Different rebar detailing at different sections of member
Hello,
Please suggest a script how can I define different reinforcements for the same member at different sections.
I wish to include the curtailment of reinforcements for modeling.
Thank you,
With regards,
Aloke

different sections @ integration points
There's a way to assign different sections to different integration points of a beam-column element. Check the following thread:

This is still to be documented, though...

Thanks for the reply Berk and I went through that thread you mentioned.
But I am still left unanswered to my problem.
My problem is that for example there is a beam with certain amount of reinforcement at different sections.
Say Top Bars at the supports as 6 No. 7 bars and at the middle is only 4 No. 7 bars. The bottom bars runs throughout as 4 No. 7 bars.
I wish to model this beam for analysis. The layer straight command can only define the reinforcements running through out between the two nodes.
Can the solution to this problem be defining different nodes at every point of change of section of the beam? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Araj,
Yes, I would use a beam element per different section. Just define additional nodes at points where your section changes and connect them with beam elements. Don't forget to assign the correct section to each beam element, of course...
