velocity input

Post by yfeng »

Hi all,
Can the velocity time history be the input ground motion for dynamic analysis? Or can we use UniformExcitation Pattern with velocity or displacement?

Thank you.

The only input for Uniform Excitation Pattern is acceleration time history (this is stated in the command manual). If you do not have acceleration history, but have velocity or displacement you can assign it to the model using Multi-Support Excitation Pattern. In the example manual you can find examples with Multi-Support Excitation Pattern.
