compressive stress and tensile strain of steel02

Post by carnatin »

in time-history analysis I use steel02 material, its stress-strain results confuse me,
time stress strain
11.7 4.24237e+008 0.0200587
11.72 4.25554e+008 0.0207169
11.74 4.26111e+008 0.0209953
11.76 3.90718e+008 0.0208177
11.78 2.83493e+008 0.0202544
11.8 1.43052e+008 0.0193889
11.82 -3.58221e+006 0.0181425
11.84 -1.29327e+008 0.0163833
11.86 -2.24366e+008 0.0138226
11.88 -2.91999e+008 0.00986891
11.9 -3.40416e+008 0.00349178
11.92 -3.78456e+008 -0.00630352

why the tensile strain corresponds to the compressive stress?

it all depends on the strain history .. did you look at the figures in the manual!

Thanks a lot
Do you mean the Figure 30.Steel02 material--Material Parameters of Monotonic Envelop, Figure 31 and Figure 32? :)
