Apply axial load proportional to lateral force or moment?

Post by wangweiyi »

I have already modelded some columns under variable axial load proportional to lateral displacement.I used sp and load command to load axial force and displacement through files because wo have known the patterns before the analyse.

I also want to model some columns in static reversed cyclic test under variable axial load which is proportional to lateral force or moment. The problem is I don't know the pattern of moment or lateral force untill I finish the analyse .

My problem is how can I get the moment and lateral force during the analyse?
How can I apply the variable load proportional to ateral force or moment?

Is there anybody can help me ? Thanks!

you can use the [getTime] to get th pseudo-time and can determine the applied loads based on this .. or you can go to the elements and get their forces using the [eleResponse] comand.
