different response in symmetric building???

Post by babibibak »

Dear silvia
I have modeled a 10 story symmetric RC building.when I want to run pushover analysis i face some problem.
1)although building is symmetric, i get different period for 1st and 2nd mode
2)when i want to push in x direction, it fails and can not reach maximum disp.

(Error : fail to get compatible element force&deformation for ...
domain fail in update

3)although building is symmetric, i can not push building in y direction at all.

then the model is not symmetric.
have you tried modeling it in buildingTcl?

i have never worked with building tcl.
where can i download it?
I correct some mistakes, but pushover analysis stops in 43th stage in y direction and 38th in x direction.

there are narrow difference between x direction result and y direction result that is not sensible

can i send you my code, and want to review it pleas?

no, sorry i have no time to review it.

look at the top message on this board for info on how/where to download BuildingTcl.
