Input File Reading

Post by oscar »

How does OpenSees read the input files? Lets say I want to apply a dynamic force and the input file has a column like :

50
100
150

and the time step is 0.005 sec.
Does OpenSees read the file as follows ?

time Force
0 0
0.005 50
0.010 100
0.015 150

or like this?

time Force
0 50
0.005 100
0.010 150

Thanks

the latter, i always recommend starting with a zero zero at the first line, otherwise you won't see that datum -- recorder data starts at analysis step 1, not zero.
