Unexpected error closes opensees during gravity

Post by jwieser »

Hi,

I sent Frank my model of a 20 story building that was closing out opensees while run gravity analysis. I think that it is a memory problem but I don't know what to do. Can someone please help.

When I run the eigen analysis first the same error message occurs. It says

OpenSees.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I tried changing the system command. I tried each of the available systems. They all gave me the same message except:

ProfileSPD gave a run time error

UmfPack gave a opensees error that said the LValue was too small. I think that my system is not suited for this system.

I have no idea what to do next

Thanks for your help.

likely, your model is not properly constrainted.
