Recorder problem

Dear Silvia:
When I use this record:
recorder Element -xml ele1local.xml -time -ele 1 plasticRotation
It won't be opened and when I open it with excel it is empty.What is my problem?Can I use *.xml for any record?My version is 2.0.0

as with any recorder, you need to close opensees, or use the wipe command to close the recorder.
are you sure you can use this recorder in the element you are using?

I am using nonlinear beam-column element with fiber section.Am I allowed to use this record?

you have to look at whether that recorder does what you want it to, that's why i have not documented it...
but it should work. test another output first to make sure you have the command right.
