dispBeamColumn and nonlinearBeamcolumn element

Post by wangweiyi »

Hello,everybody
I don't know the differents between dispBeamColumn and nonlinearBeamcolumn element .The manual doesn't give a clear answer .Is the integration method?

Can I use dispBeamColumn element in r/c structure analysis???

you should read up on the reference of the nonlinear beam-column element.
it is a force-based element rather than the classical displacement-based element.

Thanks for your reply!
I asked someone who played OS for a long time for a help.I showed him my script that was about R/C structure and he said that you cann't use dispBeamcolumn in R/C structure. It was very hurry at that time and I didn't ask why. Is he right???

In my script ,I use Load Control for integrator.I have convergence problem when I use nonlinearBeamcolumn element .But dispBeamcolumn element gives a much better result . I am confused with it.
