pushover problems

Post by joyww »

Hello,

I'm trying to do a simple pushover analysis on a 3d RC model. My pushover load are three horizontal loads to model the cabin and wing loads of an airplane flying into the side of an external events shell (basically four large waffle slab walls). I'm using nonlinearbeamcolumn elements with steel01 and concrete01 materials. My sections are pretty hefty, a couple feet by a couple feet with enough reinforcement to take tension.

However, although I'm pushing my model in the positive x direction it seems like all my horizontal deformations are outputted as negative. Also, it seems like my 9 story building is also only able to take about 1500 lbs of horizontal loads.

does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Thanks!

Hello!

so i realized that the displacements weren't actually negative. I would post the script files but it's a huge model with several script files. I think it must be something with my elements because my deformed shape is weird, but thanks!
