Applications of Material Models in OpenSees

Hello,

As you know, there are so many material and element models in OpenSees. But it is very difficult to understand how and/or where to use them. Of course, some of them can be easily used in an analysis.

Can anybody let me know to where i can apply those material models, especially nDMaterial models, in geotechnical engineering ?
