where should I start?

Post by Rodgers »

Hi, friends:

I've been doing finite element analyses for quite a while using FEAP. I want to start learning OpenSees. The specific area I am interested in is structural analyses under earthquake.

To be honest, most of my FEM experience is on static, viscoelastic.

Can anyone advise me on where to start? like any good book to look at, etc. Any suggestion is welcome.

If there happen to be someone who shares my interest, maybe we can form an interest group.

Hey there,
I am a new user of OpenSees too. I've already started to model a RC building and going to run first a free vibration analysis and then nonlinear time history analyses...I am planning to use opensees navigator instead of writing a tcl script.Did u get any experience in modeling a structure by tcl scripting or navigator?
