plastic rotation of beam element

Post by mch_basim »

Hi Silvia,
how can I get max plastic rotation of a steel beam element in a fiber section,
I'm using InelasticFiberWSection and nonlinearBeamColumn elements in my model as used in "Ex5.Frame2D.build.InelasticFiberWSection.tcl"

I need it to check the ASCE code acceptance criteria.

thanks a lot for your help.

i would just take the curvature at that section and muliply it by my plastic hinge length. the hinge length for the nonbc element depends on the number of integration points -- it is the weight for that integration point.
