Hi Fmk
I built a 3D frame model for OS2.0.0. I found this model seems working fine (producing at least reasonable eigen values) when the model has 4 story 2bays per each perimeter. However when I increase the number of elements, I 've got error message saying "the application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information".
The program stopped when it started an eigen analysis. Why this thing happen? My input tcl is so long I do not post it here but if you want to take a look at it, I will send it to you.
Thanks in advance..

Re: runtime error related to eigen analysis
I found that the program stopped during eigen analysis when the number of elements is greater than a certain number. For example, when I tried more than 1000 elements for 3D 4 story building frame with the lumped masses on the leanon column, the program stopped abnormally with the message that I described above. With less number of element, it is just fine.
So, Does Opensees have limitation on the number of elements for eigen analysis?? Does anybody experience this?? Thanks for your kind answer in advance..
