One solution, you can use wide column and aggregate shear property. The other solution, you can try brick elements. But I recommend the first one.

Hope that helps,

What is the aspect ratio of your wall? If you are a flexure dominated wall, aspect ratio greater than 4, then using a NonlinearBeamColumn and just aggregating the shear resistance will get you pretty good answers if your wall is rectangular. Non-rectangular is another problem entirely.

It is basically depends what kind of support you want chose. If you try a beam column element, then simply fix the bottom node.

Although I donot know whether I should I ask this question or not but if any body has time, pls answer. I want to put shear wall on bay two of the following picture. If I want to use nonlinearbeamcolumn element (It is a two node element), do i have to create new nodes on the middle of bay two and then create nonlinearbeamcolumn element and sized the element to fit between two columns?
