How to apply nonuniform distributed force

Post by deepak »

Hello Everybody,
Could you please suggest me how to apply the nonuniform distributed force (Triangular loading) in the member.

Thank you

look at the examples manual,
i should have that for the frame.
pretty much, use the load pattern and apply the load you want to the nodes you want.

Thank you for help.
Actually I wanted to ask about how to apply the static triangular load on the element like beam. I need to analyze building so that I am distributing the self wt. of slab as trapazoidal loading on the tributary beams. However, in OpenSees I cannot find any command which provide me facility to apply such loading. Is there any way to apply trapazoidal loading in OpenSees?

Thank You

currently,
the only way to apply it on a beam is to break the beam down into a number of elements, hence use the displacement-based nonlinear bc element.
