Hi~
I have studied about soil structure interaction.
Bayram said that OpenSees Ver 1.7.5-beta works well.
whereas ver 1.7.5 is not good.
So, I'd like to use the version 1.7.5-beta..
But I can't find the version. How could I get it?
Or
I downloaded the 1.7.5 in CVS.
How could I figure out the version information...?
thanks

Frank placed the beta version of the code here some time ago
"opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/code/OpenSees1.7.5.beta.zip"
BUT the latest version (v2.0.0) also supports the "update" command. I was encountering
some strange problems with v2.0.0 but Frank said that it works fine, so I downloaded the
latest version to another computer and it worked. I still don't know why it didn't work
in the other desktop computer.
The bottomline is v2.0.0 also supports "update" command.
I don't model the soil per se, I model the lateral soil springs (PyLiq1) which have p-y
curves associated with them. I include radiation damping in an approximate way (see
PyLiq1 manual) but those springs don't account for soil material damping.
As for the soil-bridge system damping I guess you could define that in the HHT integrator with alpha and beta parameters, but I'm not sure about the details of that procedure.
