Energy Dissipation

Post by parasismique »

Dear colleagues.

There is straightforward way to calculate the energy dissipated through hysteretic cycles in cyclic response using Matlab or OpenSees Script?

I appreciate your help.

Yes, you can easily compute it with Matlab and your OpenSees recorder file that contains the forces and displacements, using numerical integration (e.g. trapezoidal rule)
