Soil-Pile Interaction

Post by maryammf »

Dear all,

I wanna use uniaxial material in elastic range for the soil-pile interaction in OpenSees. Which amount for modulus of elasticity shall I use for the interface elements? I will appreciate any suggestion in this case!

Thanks

Hi!
I do not want to use py spring because I am modeling the soil medium. I wanna use the uniaxial material in elastic range:
http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... l_Material
But I do not know which amount for modulus of elasticity shall I use!
Is it possible to use no tension material? it is defined in the following link:
http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... n_Material
Any suggestion in this respect is appreciated!

Hi!

I am new to Opensees. I wanna model a pile fully embedded into soil so the top of pile is a couple diameters away to the soil surface. Is that possible to use OpenseesPL to realize?

Any suggestion is appreciated!

Dear all,

I am doing 2D modeling and I need to consider soil-pile interaction in my analysis. I am using PDMY for my soil domain with 9-4 quad UP elements. I checked the OpenSees website and also read some papers related to how to consider soil-pile interaction but unfortunately could not find the exact way to apply in OpenSees.
I will appreciate your suggestions in this respect.
Bests,
