A question about Structural ID using OpenSees

Post by cctvcctv »

I want to use Structural identification algorithms in the OpenSees. It needs signal processing commands from Matlab or if there are some in Opensees, it is better.

Could anybody let me know is this applicable?

Thanks.

if you want to use OpenSees.exe, you might want to research Tcl, that's where you might find stuff on that -- they'd be Tcl commands/procedures, not OpenSees.

Thanks.

I don't think OpenSees has the stuff to do identification / signal processing.

If I can incorporate those stuff into opensees or make a link/interface between Opensees and some external softwares' command (e.g. Matlab), that will be great.

I have considered this before, but Iam not familiar with OpenSees yet.

that'd be hard.
that's why i am telling you to research Tcl Tools.

there is a way, though, to run opensees through Matlab. that's what the guys did with Navigator.

silva, Thank you very much.
You mean we can run Opensees through Matlab? How?

If so, this will solve my problem. I can use my Identification program and run Opensees (Finite element model), in this process, I will send some values to OpenSees. And also some variables will be assigned new values to Opensess during iteration.

Can the above process be realized using Matlab and Opensees?

Thanks again!

you need to contact the guys who wrote Navigator to see about that, i have never done it.

I know admin is out

Is it possible to use the newer stuff on the old server?

What stuff would I have to replace from a current script?

Will On Signal work with the old MTAMA?

thanks to anyone who can help... this is for the server in my sig
