updateParameter and Opensees 2.0.0 Speed

Post by avytin »

I am trying to update the permeability of some quadup elements. I am using for e.g. element 2272 the following command:
updateParameter -element 2272 -hPerm 0.000001

I get the error message that
"expected integer but got "-element""

I am using Opensees 1.7.5.

I would also like to ask you why Opensees 2.0.0 is so slow. The same analyses in 1.7.5 need 1/3 of the time or even less. I am doing a couple pore pressure displacement dynamic analysis using a pressuredependent multiyield material, quadup elements and applying uniform excitation.

Thank you

i don't know about the geotech questions.
about the slowness of 2.0, you may have downloaded when Frank accidentally posted the debug version.
Download it again, but make sure you clear your cache first.
