Definition of orient for zerolength element

Post by nilz »

Dear all

I tend to define orient in a zero-length element for a brace, but I don't know how to calculate the orient parameters?
I have read the Opensees wiki example but I did not understand.

An example
If brace angle with the x-axis is 30 degrees, How are the following parameters calculated?
-orient $x1 $x2 $x3 $yp1 $yp2 $yp3

I look forward hearing from you all.
Sincerely
