Hi ,
I'm working on modeling the the nonlinear behavior of an RC frame and i'm using the limit state material with both shear and axial limit curve ,
my questions are :
1- How i could know in which element i have reached the shear failure and at which step ?? Opensees only gives a message "Shear curve - failure detected"
2-How i could know at which step i have reached the axial failure since Opensees automatically creates a txt file has the name of the element and contains four number ?? i didn't understand what those number indicate ??
Any help is really appreciated ..
Thanks
Bashar

Re: Shear -Axial Limit curve
Hi,
I am having a similar problem. I am not sure what the 4 numbers represent. Do you maintain a log file? If you do, the log file will tell you at which step the axial failure occured.

Re: Shear -Axial Limit curve
1-Evaluate the limit of each of your elements.
2-Record the stress in your elements.
3-Plot the stress in elements.
4-Compare your limit with the recorded stress; now you know.
