Moment Rotation-Zero length Section Element

Post by ebaf65 »

Hello,

I have used a zero length section element at the base of a RC column and need to record its Moment-Rotation behavior. I have used a section deformation and force recorder for it.

Could anybody let me know how should I use the recorded data to get M-Theta?

Thanks.

You can only get the moment-curvature relationship (not the moment rotation) from the zero length section element. For the rotation, you need to convert the curvatures to rotations over a plastic hinge length.
