SRC beam-column joint

Post by Wilbur »

hello everyone
i ' ve been doing the work to simulate the seismic behavior of the Steel reinforced Concrete(SRC) beam-column middle joint(under the two-point cyclic reversed loading which act on the end of the beam side) inside the structure

the column steel goes through whole vertical direction and beam steel were two parts welded to the column, outside was wrapped by the C60 and C30 concrete .i used the joint2D element for the shear panel ,defined the hysteretic material

(for the experiment curves no pinching) for the connection of beam to shear panel and shear springs, the column is rigid to the joint. The calculation procedure just goes on a few steps, i've examined many posts on the board ,also tried to

change the algorithms, cut the steps and increase the tolenrance, finally they didn't work.so i wonder whether the Joint2D element is fit for the modeling ?and any other simple joint model ? it really puzzled me a lot .

i hope you could give me some help!

sound like your hysteretic material .. i suggest you create a single joint element and do some analysis to confirm it's behaviour before putting it in a larger model

sorry for my delay reply, frank.as your suggestion,i try to change the material to pinching4 ,the type of SRC column-RC beam joint has a relatively accurate results with the experiment curve.
BUT when simulate the SRC column-SRC beam one (just kept everything same except the beam sections),the results seemed so weird ,it has quite a pinching effect while the experiment curve is very full.so could the rotational spring definition be the problem?

hello,I want know what is the slip spring material of beam-column joint,BarSlip? can I use Pinching4 to define the slip spring?
