I want to use hysteretic material for Bracing
how can I define [axial force - deformation] using hysteretic material and zerolength element.
I'm not want to define [moment-rotation] but [Axial force-displacement]

Re: Question abaot hysteretic material & zerolength element
it is the use by the modeler in the choice of dof that the material acts in which determines if the material is providing a force-displacement or moment-rotation relationship

Dear fmk
Thank you for your reply.
But, I couldn't undertand your sectence whole.
If you don't mind, please give me an example??

Re: Question abaot hysteretic material & zerolength element
how the matertial is being used, e.g. as a force-deformation relationship, or a moment-rotation relation depends on the choice of dof that the user specifies. e.g. if a 2d frame and dir specified is the horiontal translation then the relationship is force-deformation.
