period of structure in OpenSEES and ETABS

Post by amirmassoud »

I have modeled a 3D RC 3 stories structure both in OpenSEES and ETABS.
But period of structure is different !
Period of structure calculated from OpenSEES is 0.523 sec and from ETABS is 0.926 sec.
Help me if possible

the only advice i can give is that the 2 models are different .. use elastic models first and check the periods, if different it should be easy to find, if different start making the ele nonlinear in steps to find the issue
