nodeAccel command

Post by gor »

When using the nodeAccel command, is it possible to get the total acceleration of the node and not just the relative acceleration? I understand why it comes out this way, but relative acceleration is of little use to me. Otherwise, is it possible to get the current input acceleration in the analysis to compute total acceleration manually?

I am aware you can get total acceleration using the node recorder with the timeseries, but i am trying to avoid this approach.

there is no command at present to get the value from a TimeSerie object which is what is needed .. if you really need it you could add a fixed node hanging in space and specify the ground accel at that node and use the nodAccel command to get that accel and add that to the other to get totalAccel
