Modal Time History Analysis - Final Response After All Modes

Post by ankitdubey »

Hello,

I am a relatively new user to OpenSees.

I would like to know that whether OpenSeeS provides an option of of doing Modal Time History Analysis-getting the overall response after all modes are considered, without having to extract the response from each mode.

As far as I know, SAP does this.

Please let me know if there's a way to do this in OpenSees as well. I wanted to compare results of a displacement time history for a 2DOF spring mass system from Modal Superposition and Direct Integration procedures!

Thanks in advance.

opensees does not do it in general. for a small model it can be easily programmed in tcl .
