Bi-Directional Displacement-Controlled Pushover

Post by ftong »

Does anyone has some idea on the following modeling demand?

I'd like to conduct a displacement-controlled pushover analysis on a 3D structure.
Instead of the structure's principle axes on plan that align with the global X and Z respectively, the controlled displacement need to be applied along a diagonal direction in the plane of X-Z.

It seems that by following the command "integrator DisplacementControl", the displacement control can be only designated to a single DOF in either global X or Y of a single node. Is it possible to have the designation applied on both X and Z simultaneously such that their vectorial addition will eventually form a diagonal movement? In other words, can pushover analysis be done bi-directionally in OpenSees?

Thanks.
