Residual stress for a circular shape patch

Post by ybala »

The residual stress should be considered for a circular shape patch; but, it seams that residual stress can not be compatible with this kind of patch. This warning is appeared:"failed to get compatible element forces and deformations for the element". I would really appreciate if you could help me to solve this problem.

if you are using nonlinearBeamColumn element, use "-iter" option at the end of the element command. the iterative form can improve the rate of global convergence at the expense of more local element computation.

I have used the "-iter" option at the end of element command, and a large value of the "-maxIters" was considered; but the problem was not solved.

did you start with elastic materials to ensure your patch was correct?

Yes. It is working with elastic materials.
