time history analysis

Post by saharnaz »

hi.
i've modeled a 6 story RC moment frame in 2D, and also i've used buckling restrained braces in it. i'm dong time history analysis for 2,3,4,5 and 6 story of my model.for 2 and 3 story model analysis is successful but other models fail with this errors:
UniaxialMaterial:: setTrial<>-material failed in setTerial
Domain::update<>-domain failed in update
Newmark::update<>-failed to update the domain
WARNING AcceleratedNewton::solveCurrentStep<>the integrator failed in pdate<>
DirectIntegrationAnalysis::analyze<>-the Algorithm failed at time 27.04
opensees> analysis failed , returned:-3 error flag
what should i do?

I assume that the reason is in your analysis bit and truncation/convergence errors.
Try to play around with different types of integrators, tests, etc.
At least, that's what was suggested earlier with a similar type of error:

thanks for your reply.
i used other types of algorithms and tests but errors still exist :(
