SteelBRB Material Incompatibility

Post by arebrahimi »

Dear Friends
I am working on some kind of buckling restrained braced frames and as I understand there is a new uniaxial material type for modeling of BRBFs.(SteelBRB)
When I use this material in static cyclic analysis everything is OK and the response looks great, but when i go for dynamic analysis
some of simple commands like "Path" or "Series" will not work anymore, for example a PEER ground motion file could not be opened and an error/warning will appear.

However, when I change the material type from SteelBRB to Steel02 everything will back to OK condition again. "I CHECKED MY MODEL, MANY TIMES" and I think there is some incompatibility between dynamic analysis and this new material.
I would be grateful if someone has experience with SteelBRB and could give me some explanation about it.
Best Regards.

I think this material will only work with truss/corotTruss elements. with these elements the response makes sense.
