Having a problem using OpenSeesSP

Post by mtsonicc »

Hi,

I'm trying to use the OpenSeesSP to analyze my model faster.
When I tried 'mpiexec openseessp.exe model.tcl', it worked fine.
But when I tried 'mpiexec -np 4 openseessp.exe model.tcl', opensees gives me the following error:

ZeroLength::sendSelf -- failed to send Material1d Slave
FEM_ObjectBrokerAllClasses::getNewUniaxialMaterial - 0
- no UniaxialMaterial type exists for class tag 1972

Could it be something related to the zero-length element? or is there something wrong with model.tcl?
(for zero-length materials used in my model: Elastic, Pinching4, LimitState, Hysteretic, Steel01)

it's the limitstate material. it was not written to use send/recvSelf. I am on vacation, giving workshops and attending conferences through July 26 and will not be able to update the .exe until I get back to me office to update the .exe.

Dear fmk,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm really looking forward to see the OpenSees updated.

Thank you again, and have a nice vacation.

Dear fmk,

Is there an updated version of Pinching4 that can be used in parallel computing?

Thanks David P.
