Which recorder can obtained axial strain on braces? Shear strain too?

depends on the element you use.

Type of element is brace and with command "nonlinearBeamColumn" is written.

use an element recorder to obtain strain from a fiber at a section along such an element, i.e.

recorder Element -file ele.out -ele $eleTag - section $sectionTag fiber $yLoc $zLoc $matTag strain
