the force beam column is a form of distributed plasticity element .. response of element determined from numerical integration of the behaviour of sections at points along the element (location of which depends on the integration type and number of integration points used) .. i suggest you look at the paper

so unless the "hinge" as you call it forms at the element ends or at some intermediate point due to application of external loads and there is a section (gauss-pont) at that location it will not be captured in the response.
