segment-to-segment joints

Post by liushqi »

I'm trying to simulate a precast segmental column in 2d space for quasi-static test. I used dispBeamColumn eleemet with fiber section for the column, and truss element for the prestressing tendon, and zerolength element with conpression-only material for the segment-to-segment joints,Unfortunately,it doesn't seem to work properly, now i wonder if it is right to use zerolength element for the joints ? generally, which element type is used to simulate the joints ?
I would appreciate if you could help me!
