Re: geomtransf of bracing elements
Dear fmk Hello, Thank you for your time and answer. I was wondering whether, provided that the geometricTransformation vector in 3d defines the X-Z Plane, one could say there would be no difference between geomTransf of two elements with different Local axes' angle with respect to Global axes, as lo...

geomTransf of Bracing Element
Dear all Hello, Recently, I have been reviewing the forum on how to properly define geometric transformation for bracing elements in 3D modeling. In my research i found that mostly the Vecxz for bracing elements are defined as if they are oriented along one of 3 Cartesian axes (e.g. 1 0 0, or 0 0 1 ...

Re: Concentrated Plasticity Using "Zero-Length Section Eleme
Dear Vesna.
Thank you for your helpful answer.
I have another question as well. Assuming that fiber sections have been assigned to these Zero-Length elements, and considering that plastic zone length has not been defined for each zero-length element, will the component work properly as a whole?

Concentrated Plasticity Using "Zero-Length Section Element"?
Dear All Hello I am trying to model a 2-D steel frame structure assuming "Concentrated Plasticity" in beams and in columns, and i decided to use "Zero-Length Section Element" command as follows: The combined component (used for modeling of the columns) is : { Linear element + &qu...
