Using 3D-elements in OpenSees
Hi Silvia. I would like to use three-dimensional elements in OpenSees to take into account shear, axial and moment load effects on an RC element... but since the on-line manual does not deal with 3D-elements, I was wondering if OpenSees doesn't come with that feature out of the box. Many thanks in a...

It seems you will always get a bus error if you try to run OpenSees 2.1.0 on Mac OS X 10.4.11. Probably there is a bug in the current release of OpenSees. If you are a beginner and want to start using OpenSees right now, download OpenSees 2.0.0. Or wait until next stable release of OpenSees is avail...

Expanding/modifying code with Objective-C
Hi Frank... I'm thinking to learn Objective-C in order to exploit all features available in both OpenSees and Mac OS X, and then adapt them to a large research at Universidad del Norte... My question is if I can employ Objective-C to expand/modify pieces of code in OpenSees... I've read that mixing ...

OpenSees at work?
Can I use OpenSees as the main finite element "software" to analyze structures at work? I've read the disclaimer, but I'm not sure at all if I have permission to use it in this way.
Many thanks in advance!

Compiling OpenSees with Ruby
Hi Frank. As far I know, ---------------------- OpenSees' User Interface = OpenSees Interpreter + Tcl. ---------------------- But rather than using Tcl, do you think I could compile OpenSees using the Ruby Interpreter? (Ruby is also a high programming language). Or I will have to modify some piece o...
