Hi, Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you think about the contribution of CFRP in terms of axial behavior? Will it contribute to the axial stiffness in terms of fiber elements as does the concrete and steel. I am not sure about the contribution of CFRP wrapping. If you were talking about CFRP fibe...

Any progress on modeling shear wall?

Hasn't the shear wall element implemented yet :?:

I think I saw a note in previous change logs indicating that the element developed by Dr.Orakcal and Prof.Dr.Wallace had been added into the element library. But, later the note disappeared.

I have a similar problem about the maximum number of recorders. In my model, I have 205 nodes and 381 frame elements. I was able to record the force response of all frame elements. However, I was only able to record the displacements of 127 nodes. For the remaining nodes, even no files have been cre...

Although nothing to do with the axial stiffness, it solved my problem. Thank you very much, Silvia! I have started to go crazy...

Period of a flexural-shear beam

I have modeled a flexural-shear beam (like a column fixed at bottom and free at top) using nonlinearbeamcolumn elements and utilizing section Aggregator for combining the effect of shear and flexural deformations. When I changed the stiffnesses, EIzero and GAzero, that I defined for the uniaxial sec...

Thanks a lot, Silvia! As you've expressed, neglecting the lateral confinement effects at this stage, I can increase the strength in that region (jacketing region). But, I think we can not modify an existing element between the analyses in OpenSees and we can only handle this by removing the element ...

retrofitted column modeling

Hi,

I want to perform successive dynamic analyses on a retrofitted frame.

I will firstly analyze the original R/C frame, then, before proceeding to the next dynamic analysis, I will analytically retrofit the damaged column elements with modeling the jackets. Is it possible in OpenSees?

Sorry to bother, but have you solved the un-documented parameters problem? I have the original papers (Wen, Baber and Noori). Even though, I couldn't have solved my problem: I have a force-displacement curve (actually, capacity curve of a 2-d frame) and I want to represent this curve by using an app...

To overcome the error, I changed a small part in RelativeDOF.cpp as: // set the values for (int i=0; i<dimR; i++) { mat(0,0)=ccoefficient; id(i) = i; } Debugger does not give any error, but the error related with constrainthandler remained as it was. So, I changed my constrainthandler (for dynamic a...

For last few days, I was trying to compile the current version with VS. NET, but I had so many errors. Finally, I succeeded. However, there is an error in implementing my own code into OpenSees. I chose "relativeDOF" as the new command name that will do what I have expressed in my previous...

Well, what I have previously asked about modifying MP_constraint.cpp and .h was a wrong attempt I think. :) I examined the rigidBeam.cpp and .h that are called by "rigidlink" command through tcl command interpreter and I saw that the constraint matrix is formed in rigidbeam.cpp . Therefore...
