How do I change the releases of a beam element in a Staged Construction Analysis?
Hi everybody, I am trying to model a precast concrete structure that needs to be analyzed in two stages. In the first of them, the structure has its beams simply supported at the ends by the columns. Then, when the concrete is poured into the node, the node will emulate a monolithic connection betwe...

Problems with a 3D model using ZeroLengthSections
Hi everybody, I am trying to model a 3D structure with ZeroLengthSection and BeamColumnJoint elements, to do so, I am firstly building a simple frame in the XZ plane. When I run the analysis, the solver fails to solve the equation system. I am using the FullGeneral system and a Plain numberer to che...

BeamColumnJoint (BCJ) element in 3D structure
Hi everybody!,
I do not know the correct way to use the BCJ element in a 3D structure. I have been trying with two elements in each direction (both elements sharing the column nodes) but I am not sure if I am using it right.
Thank you in advance!

BARSLIP Material
Hi everybody! I am trying to simulate the behaviour of a beam column joint between precast concrete elements for my master thesis. In the OpenSees wiki states that one can specify the units of the material; about this, if I am using MPa, should I use meters for the lengths? Or shall I consider MPa a...
