contribution of the slab
Hi everyone, I want to consider contribution of the slab in a building model. For this aim, I have to assume a full composite section and equivalent length for calculating beam’s moment of inertia. The Ibarra-Medina-Krawinkler model is used for beams. What should I do for modeling beam composite sec...

Pounding element properties
Hi everyone I'm working on pounding problem. I used a zerolength element with ElasticPPGap material to represent the point of impact in two buildings that pound together, but I don know what values should I use for $E and $Fy in ElasticPPGap material? I would be so grateful if someone could guide me...

Re: Bouc–Wen model
Dear vjayaprakash
Do you want to consider stiffness and strength degradation as well as pinching effects using Bouc–Wen model?
Do you find a solution for your problem?

initial conditions
Hi everyone
I want to perform a transient analysis, initial conditions are required in order to start step by step time integration. how can I define non-zero initial displacement and/or initial velocity for a particular DOF in my model?
Thanks

two mass spring systems considering impact
Hi everyone I want to model impact of two mass spring systems with masses of m1 and m2 and stiffness k1 and k2. Between of two masses is a gap. Firstly, both m1 and m2 are compressed, such that each one has a initial displacement (disp1 ans disp2 related to m1 and m2 respectively). After compressing...
