Re: shear wall cyclic behaviour
Yes, it looks reasonable before failing to converge. I tried to reduce displacement increment and increase the tolerance, but it did not work.

shear wall cyclic behaviour
Hi everyone, I am trying to model a shear wall with SFI-MVLEM. I used Menegotto&Pinto constitutive model for steel and Chang&Mander for concrete. I calculated all the concrete parameters following Chang&Mander formulas, except the values of xcrnu and xcrnc (see the code later). The model...

Problems with convergence
Hi, I am a student and I am trying to simulate a quasi-static cycled test on a shear wall. After defining the wall geometry and the materials, I define the first 5 displacement-cycle peaks in terms of wall drift ratio (in total I have 9 displacement-peaks) and the model works great, giving me reason...

measurement units
Hello, is it possible to use european measurement units (metre, Pascal, Newton...) in OpenSees? I mean, can I just use them in the mean file (the file in which I define the geometry and materials properties) and run it or should I change some settings also in the other files (dispControl file, gravi...

Re: OpenSees.exe has stopped working
I am trying to model a shear wall, anyway the example you send me is working. So there should definitely be something wrong with the example I downloaded.
Thank you!
Thank you!

OpenSees.exe has stopped working
Dear Mrs/Mr, I downloaded OpenSees.exe and Tcl/Tk file. After the installation, when I try to run the file Example1.SFI_MVLEM (taken from http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/SFI_MVLEM_-_Cyclic_Shear-Flexure_Interaction_Model_for_RC_Walls) it says that "OpenSees.exe has stopped working&q...
