HDR and opensees version
Hi, Is "element HDR" command incorporated in opensees.exe 2.4.5? I asked because I have version 2.5 in my system and without any problem run my model. But in HPC (high performance comupting center) of my university, version of opensees is 2.4.5 and my model in HPC encounters problem when i...

Bad period of isolated structures
Hi, I have modeled a 3D bridge isolated with different isolators. Ironically, period of isolated structure falls below that of fixed structure; while, the isolated structure most have a larger period. I this due to the opensees performance to calculate the period by using the initially elastic stiff...

Re: Kikuchi Aiken material
Can I increase this limit? Such an error does not appear on the screen, it is a state of suspension, neither an error appears nor it continues the analysis and goes to the next loops. Ironically, by reducing alpha from 130.e6(si units), which is the true lead shear modulus, to 30.e6, an underestimat...

Kikuchi Aiken material
Hi, I have used KikuchAiken material for modelling LRB isolators within the following process: 1)Defining the material(whit the inherental output of force-deformation) 2)Using zerolength element with the above material for two horizontal directions 3)Using zerolength elemnt with a rigid material for...

Re: LRB Isolator convergence problem
For using "variableTransient" analyze command, I have written the following code. But it seems not to work since the analysis is hindered while it doesn't decrease the time step. What is the problem with my code? "set dtAnalysis 0.01 set dtmin 0.001 set dtmax 0.01 set dtRecord 0.02 se...

Low curvature
Hi, I have modeled a 3D bridge with 3 bents. Section of bents is a 4*2 m rectangle which has a hollow of 3.2*1.2 correspondingly at the center. 1st period of this structure is about 0.9 sec. The problem is too low curvature of bents in order of 10-4 for max curvature during curvature. For bents sect...

little curvature
Hi, Are kappaz and kappay, the outputs of "element recorder...section deformation", curvature? I ask this since my kappaz and kappay are too smaller than yield curvature (their ratio is in order of 10.e-4) and it seems not reasonable. The max curvature is 7.5e-6 (SI units) but the yield cu...

Recording curvature
Hi,
is it possible to record curvature of an RC section during earthquake like drift for example?
If no, shall i use some relations for relating displacement of an element to curvature of some section?

The code has proceeded without any error, although the difference is 0. I have obtained data and diagrams and i dont know what they represent.
Indeed, i have used zerolength to model isolators in my project,

Zerolength drift
Hi,
What does "recorder drift" show when used for a zerolength element? I mean it might not be drift ratio anymore. Is this just displacement between 2 nodes of zerolength element?
kind regards

Re: LRB Isolator convergence problem
I have an analysis engine including loops in which dt of analysis is decreased and even is divided into1000 in some loops. But the problem is that it does not enter these loops, indeed it does not fail during the part of code for analysis before the loops and in a specified time, it is hindered with...

LRB Isolator convergence problem
Hi, I have modeled a 3D bridge model isolated by LRB using "KikuchiAiken" material. My model converges for ap=.0339 m2(area of lead plug). But as soon as I reduce it by a half, it does not converge even for deadload analysis; indeed by using "puts" command before and after "...

Grant Parameters in HDR bearing
Hi, I have modeled a 3D bridge model with HDR isolators, using "element HDR" command. I do not know what are the Grant parameters' quantities, a1 a2 a3 b1 b2 b3 c1 c2 c3 c4. Indeed, I have found two references with different quantities regarding to Grant parameters delivering so different ...
