How to save the residual displacement into a file?
Hi all, This might be silly question but I couldn't manage to do it :( I just need to save the residual displacement to a file. I know that the recorder gives all the displacements and the last one will be the residual, however, I need the output file to contain only the residual displacement. I use...

Re: Consideration of P-Delta effect in time history analysis
Thank you very much. I just plotted the top displacement vs the base moment for each analysis and since the difference between including/excluding P-Delta effect (with current input) is small, the two graphs seems to be identical. And as I was expecting a big difference (50-100mm like a previous stu...

Re: Consideration of P-Delta effect in time history analysis
Thanks for reply. The displacements are not 0, but the same results for both cases. Here is the code which is a cantilever column with axial load. I used LA01 earthquake record, just use any. Thanks for help. # SET UP ----------------------------------------------------------------- wipe; # clear me...

Re: Consideration of P-Delta effect in time history analysis
Hi there, thanks for replying. Yes, I am using the loasdConst command. Here is the code for applying the axial load P : geomTransf PDelta 1; element nonlinearBeamColumn 1 1 2 4 100 1; pattern Plain 1 Linear { load 2 0 [expr -0.05*$Weight] 0 }; set Tol 1.0e-12; test NormDispIncr $Tol 10; constraints ...

Consideration of P-Delta effect in time history analysis
Hi all, I tried a nonlinear time history analysis on a cantilever column to see P-Delta effect on the results. To include P-Delta I used PDelta geometric transformation, to ignore it I just used the Linear geometric transformation. The problem was that the two results were identical :\ I tired to in...

How to unload in Pushover Analysis?
Hi all, I am performing pushover analysis and when unloading I don't know how to set the displacement to 0 force position (the origin) so that I can push again from the same starting point. I am just checking the concrete material (Concrete04) and I want to get the stress-stain diagram with loading-...

To admin: Errors in Examples 2b and 2c
Dear admin :) Kindly know that there are some errors in examples 2b and 2c in pushover part, they exists in this forum, following are the links: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/OpenSees_Example_2b._Nonlinear_Cantilever_Column:_Uniaxial_Inelastic_Section http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/...

Thanks Alperozturk,
but "Compressive concrete parameters should be input as negative values (if input as positive, they will be converted to negative internally)."

Re: Takes a long time during gravity analysis
Which Concrete material did u use? if you used Concrete02, try using Concrete01 and see what will happen

Convergence issue using Concrete02
Hello guys, I had a convergence issue when I used Concrete02 material in a gravity load analysis. However, when I changed it to Concrete01 (no tension strength for concrete) it worked just fine. Any idea why this happened? Thanks Here is the code: # MATERIAL parameters # confinded concrete set fpc [...
