Elastic-Perfectly Plastic Material and parallel Material

Hi everyone. I want to construct hysteretic model. and then I wiil input to zerolength element. I used Elastic-Perfectly Plastic Material and parallel Material for multilinear model. I want to model softening section. When I input negative figure for gredient(tangent), An error is occured. Error is ...

Question about local equalDOF

Hi everyone, I want to model eccentric steel brace frame. This model is 2D one story - one bay Frame and shape of brace is inverted V with 2 metre eccentric I try to use 'zero length Element' and 'equalDOF' for hysteretic behavior of Bracing I have a question : I think that 'equalDOF' affect global ...

How can I model Brace based on FEMA356 using Opensees?

Dear all. I try to do "Pushdown analysis" I want to model concentrically braced frame (2D). I can define moment-rotation back bone of Beam, Column brased on FEME356 using NonlinearBeamColumnElement & ZeroLengthElement & Hysteretic Material. but, I don't know how to define hystereti...

Question abaot hysteretic material & zerolength element

I want to use hysteretic material for Bracing
how can I define [axial force - deformation] using hysteretic material and zerolength element.
I'm not want to define [moment-rotation] but [Axial force-displacement]

Re: question about Hysteretic material

Thank you for your answering my question. The focus of my question is that Input parameter of 'hysteretic material' is only numerical value. i.e yield stress = 235Mpa (in Stress-strain relationship), yield moment = 446940000 Nmm (in Moment-rotation) there is no input unit system (Mpa, Nmm). Only num...

question about Hysteretic material

Hi dear all. I want to use Hysteretic materail for flexural members (Beam). Hysteretic material can uses 'stress-strain' or 'force-deformation (Moment-Rotation)' options My question is that Input parameter is only value (ex 123). there is no Unit(kNm or N/mm^2) How can Opensees distinguish between '...
